Commissioned by Department for Education, SDN is delivering a part of the Provider Support Programme alongside the Association of Colleges.
Employer engagement lies at the heart of T-Level delivery. It involves active collaboration between educational organisations and employers to shape the curriculum, provide industry insights, and offer real-world work experience through Industry Placements. This collaboration ensures that T-Level students graduate not only with theoretical knowledge but also with practical skills that align with the needs of the job market.
Employer Engagement Staff are pivotal to achieving this and driving the success of T Levels. These individuals are the bridge builders, connecting educational organisations with employers to ensure a seamless integration of theoretical learning and real-world application.
What support will be available?
Launching in April 2024 – A pilot of CPD aimed at helping develop and professionalise this critical workforce. The CPD programme will be underpinned with a range of practical tools and resources which will help employer engagement staff to implement and embed effective ways of working which deliver results.
So, whether it’s about developing a strategy for employer engagement or knowing what to say when you engage with an employer for the first time, there’ll be a tool or resource for you.
Designed and delivered by our team of T Level and employer engagement experts this programme of support is ….
This is a pilot, so this means we want delegates engaging with our CPD programme to commit to keeping in touch with us and sharing updates on progress and impact, helping to shape any further support programmes in the future.
There will be four sessions, with one being delivered either weekly or fortnightly depending on the programme you choose and we recommend the same individual attends all four.
CPD will be interactive with group sizes of no more than 16 to allow for plenty of discussion. Delegates can expect to be tasked with taking action between sessions.
Due to limited spaces on these programmes each provider can nominate up to 2 delegates to participate in one of our CPD programmes during 2024. If all relevant CPD programmes are fully booked please add yourself to a waiting list and we will let you know if a space becomes available.
Recognising employer engagement functions differ across educational organisations CPD programmes will be available for specific organisation types i.e. Schools, UTCs and Colleges or, if you think there’s more to learn from colleagues across the whole sector we’re delivering some open sessions where any organisation type can attend.
