Support for Employers
SDN delivers a major support package for the Department for Education, to help employers plan and prepare to offer high-quality industry placements. This support includes:
- A comprehensive employer portal with guidance and tools
- Webinars focused on different skill areas and specific topics
- Regional in-person conferences to help you plan and prepare
- Hands-on support for your organisation and teams
Tailored 1-2-1 support sessions for employers
For those considering, or planning to host, T Level placements, do make use of the 1-2-1 support available with our team of T Level placement specialists.
One-to-one phone call
If you have a specific industry placement query that you want to chat through on the phone, a one-to-one session with our team will help.
Online group session
If you have several colleagues or partner organisations who need help understanding, planning or delivering industry placements, we can arrange an online meeting for your group, with one of our specialists.
Bespoke webinar training
If it would be helpful for staff involved in T Level placements in your organisation to access training, we can host tailored webinar sessions (e.g. the role of the line manager and mentor)

Support for Providers
Commissioned by Department for Education, SDN is delivering an important strand of the Provider Support Programme alongside the Association of Colleges.
Industry placements are the central pillar of T Levels. As such, effective employer engagement lies at the heart of successful T Level delivery. That’s why the DfE – led by SDN – have launched a new suite of CPD training and support for those in employer engagement roles.
Employer Engagement CPD Programme
This CPD has been designed to assist you to plan, implement and embed employer engagement activities from strategy to delivery.
The programme is now open for bookings and will be delivered in four parts through live online sessions, occurring on a weekly or fortnightly basis. Practical tools and resources are provided throughout the session to support your success.
